What is Pupil Premium Funding?

Pupil Premium is additional government funding allocated to schools to boost attainment of disadvantaged children to ensure that all children fulfil their potential, regardless of their circumstances.

The funding is allocated to schools for children who have registered for free school meals in the last six years, are in care, or have parents in the Armed Forces.

Schools can choose how they wish to spend their money, based on their knowledge of individual pupils needs.  However they are responsible and accountable for how they use the additional funding to support pupils from low income families and other target groups.
